As the world's largest international organization promoting corporate social responsibility, the United Nations Global Compact took the lead in proposing ESG (Environment, Social and Governance) in its "Who Cares Wins" report in 2004, which means environment, society.
In order to better support and guide the sustainable development of enterprises in the fields of E (environment) and S (society), the United Nations Global Compact launched two accelerator programs in China this year: Climate Ambition Accelerator (Climate Ambition Accelerator, CAA) and the Target Gender Equality Accelerator (TGE) aim to provide Chinese corporate members with practical capacity building services and build a platform for experience sharing and exchange, so as to support Chinese enterprises to organically integrate their own corporate practices with global standard tools, and formulate corporate sustainable development ambitions and action plans that are in line with the 2030 sustainable development goals.
This month, China Business News, the media partner of the United Nations Global Compact Business Accelerator Project, launched a column "Ten Questions about the United Nations Global Compact Business Accelerator", interviewing representatives of 11 companies participating in the CAA and TGE accelerator projects, and shared their practical experience in addressing climate change and promoting gender equality, reviewed what they learned and exchanged in the accelerator program, and looked forward to the future sustainable development of enterprises and the practice of social responsibility.Mr. Qu Weifeng, general manager of Leverage, was also invited to participate in this column interview.
The followings are Mr. Qu’s sharing from the perspective of a technical service enterprise:
"As a technology service company, how do you convey the concepts of sustainable development, economic gender equality, and low-carbon transformation to related companies from the perspective of strategic planning and practical actions?"
