The United Nations Principles for Responsible Investment (UNPRI), founded by former United Nations Secretary-General Kofi Annan and launched on the New York Stock Exchange in 2006, is an international investor network of asset owners, asset managers and service providers around the world committed to developing sustainable financial systems around the world.

UNPRI aims to help investors understand the impact of environmental, social and Governance (ESG) factors on investment value, and to support signatories to incorporate ESG issues into investment and ownership decisions, thereby advancing the process of global sustainable development.

UNPRI encourages all parties to adopt and cooperate to implement the [Six Principles], improve corporate governance, integrity and accountability mechanisms, and build a sustainable global financial system with signatories by removing obstacles to market operations, structures and supervision.
