This year's awards and conference will also feature an NGO Expo where NGOs and social enterprises can participate as free exhibitors.

Four awards were established this year: Innovation, Impact, Collaboration and NGO/Social Enterprise of the Year. These awards are designed to showcase and honor organizations that have made significant contributions in the field of social responsibility and sustainable development in China. The award is open to any enterprise, organization and institution, including Chinese and international enterprises, organizations and institutions.

Amcham Shanghai Corporate Social Responsibility Awards was established in 2005. The annual program provides a platform for businesses, social enterprises and CSR professionals to share best practices, This includes, but is not limited to, creating shared value, business goals, environmental, social and governance (ESG) commitments, social innovation, environmental initiatives, educational efforts, sustainable supply chains, community outreach, employee well-being, public health and safety, employee engagement, and public-private partnerships. Amcham Shanghai has maintained its leadership in the development of corporate social responsibility in China for more than 15 years by bringing businesses, governments, think tanks and non-profit organizations together on one platform to promote cross-border cooperation and value-based partnerships.

During this time, the annual AmCham Shanghai Corporate Social Responsibility Awards recognized best practices pioneered by companies through positive ESG initiatives. Over the past few years, we have observed a shift in focus from externalizing projects to those incorporating ESGs into business models. As the world becomes more complex and the impact of environmental, social and economic challenges grows, organizations need to become more resilient and adapt to changing social needs and expectations, requiring a balance between flexibility, risk-taking and control, and higher levels of governance.
